Westport Golf Club is a championship course which has played host to the US PGA tournament. The setting is spectacular and Croagh Patrick, Ireland’s holy mountain seems to follow you everywhere on the course.
Ballinrobe is a parkland course on a 300 acre wooded estate. It was laid out by the well known Eddie Hackett and has been described by Padraig Harrington as “.. the finest championship golf course in the West of Ireland.”
Castlebar Golf Club’s new layout was designed by Walker Cup Captain, Peter McEvoy. It is currently celebrating its centenary year in 2010.
Entertainment in the Bench Café Bar every evening, including the all important prize giving for our champion men and ladies on the last night. Use of the excellent leisure facilities at the Beech Club Leisure Centre is complimentary - and you might enjoy relaxing in the sauna or jacuzzi after a tough day on the greens and fairways. Better still, take advantage of the special spa rate and get those muscles back in order for the next day’s action.
Non-playing partners will find plenty to occupy them either at the hotel, in Westport or further afield. The leisure centre and spa are an attraction in themselves. Lazy mornings are a welcome option too, and breakfast is served until 11am so there’s ample opportunity to lie in and enjoy a little indulgence. Our receptionist has information on all sorts of things to do in the local area.
