Golf on the West Coast

Just imagine a holiday destination with a championship course, a charming nine-hole course, pitch & putt and a driving range.  Westport has all of these plus some of the most stunning scenery you can imagine. Westport Golf Club is a lovely parkland course on the shores of Clew Bay. Its is rated as one of the top golf courses in the West of Ireland, a gem of a golf course. The Course was designed by the renowned golf architect, Fred Hawtree, who said of his creation: "the nature of the terrain, part inland and part seaside, the panorama which it commands and its considerable golfing virtues, make it uniquely attractive and memorable." Set in 260 acres of rolling parkland and measuring over 7,000 yards from the championship stakes, Westport has developed into a superb course and is a highly regarded championship venue, having hosted the Irish Amateur Close Championship on three occasions and the Smurfit Irish PGA Championship in recent years.  The newly opened driving range is also attached to the golf club.

The nearby Clew Bay Golf Course is located in an area of outstanding scenic grandeur with magnificent panoramic views of Clew Bay, its islands and Croagh Patrick.  The nine-hole course is open to the public and plays 2,500 metres, Par 35.  It is specifically designed to provide a challenge for the true golfer, and at the same time encourage the beginner. The avid golfer could avail of many of the golfing packages available at the hotel which include a round of golf on Castlebar, Westport and Ballinrobe golf courses! There are any number of link courses available within an hour’s drive from the hotel and we can book all your tee times so all you have to do is stay and play!
